We provide a venue for physical and intellectual education through positive reinforcement and an organized curriculum. Our CPR/Safety/1st Aid certified and background-checked staff has worked together for years to promote a clean and safe environment for your child’s learning experience. With countless years of combined coaching experience – we are still training and attending classes to become even better.

What to know before your first day!
Before Class
Your child should come into our lobby, take off their shoes, socks, jackets, etc… and wait for the class instructor to greet your child and ask them to come in the gym. Class will begin right on time, so try to be a few minutes early.
When Class Starts
Your child will be brought into the gym by a coach. They can bring their water bottle in and leave it on the counter in the gym. Parents can watch from the viewing room or the lobby.
When Class is Going On
Your child will spend 15 minutes warming up and stretching. From there, they will spend 15 minutes each on two events, and they will wrap up class with either another event or learning air awareness on the trampoline.
When Class Ends
At the end of practice, your child will be dismissed to the lobby by their coach. If you did not stay to watch their practice, please make sure you come inside and on time to pick up your child. Our coaches need to make sure your child is getting home with the right person and safely. If you are a little late, no need to call, your child can hang out with us.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS
Boys After School: Boys must wear shorts, or sweats and a t-shirt that tucks in. Hair must be secured to stay out of their face. All students must have bare feet.
HOW MANY KIDS ARE IN EACH GROUP
Group size is between 6 and 8 depending on the level. One additional make-up may be placed in the group. Class size varies depending on the number of groups.
WHAT IS YOUR REGISTRATION & PAYMENT POLICY?
All registrations will be taken on a first-come basis five weeks before each session start. Please register early. In the Winter and Spring Semesters current clients may receive access to registration before open enrollment.
Full payment will be autocharged within 48 hours of registering. Registrations are first checked for accuracy and for any discounts/prorates that may apply. If necessary, other arrangements may be made with Mr. Tom – neweragym@gmail.com.

Refunds: All fees are refundable until one day after the 2nd class of the any semester after you registered for all new students except the summer semester where it is one class. Options for time missed due to injuries are taken as a case by case basis. If the gym is forced to close and make-ups and/or make-up days cannot suffice, a credit will be issued to your gymnastics account. For current/former gymnasts a cancelation more than 5 days before a semester will be refunded , after that only credited. Credits cannot be exchanged for refunds or transferred outside the immediate family.
WHAT IS YOUR MAKE-UP POLICY?
If your child is possibly contagious, please keep him/her out of class and schedule a make-up.

Each student is limited to 2 makeup classes during school year semesters and 1 makeup class during a summer semester. Makeups must be done within the semester they were missed. Makeup classes will be based on availability in the requested class and are not a guaranteed benefit.

For storm closings, an email will be sent out, and the gym’s status will be posted on the front page of this website and on social media. PLEASE do NOT call the gym to check status. Decisions will be made by 7:30 am for morning classes and by 12:30 pm for afternoon classes for If your child misses a class because WE cancel his/her class, you may schedule an additional make-up during that session, but make-ups are subject to availability. You cannot be credited unless the cancellation occurs during the last 2 weeks of the session.
Beginner
Ages 5 - 6.9- One 60 minute class per week
- They will learn the basics of all six events – Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar.
- With the incredible variety of skills your gymnast will work on, he will develop strength throughout his body, enabling him to advance to more difficult skills.
Intermediate
Ages 7.0 - 10- One 75 minute class per week
- At this level, basic swing is mastered on all apparatus.
- Increasing speed and power is the main focus on Floor and Vault.
- A strong handstand is the key to advancement at the level. Ggymnasts to train handstands safelyat home .
Advanced
Ages 10+- One 90 minute class per week
- At this level, boys start to flip on most events.
- There is a large amount of strength training done to facilitate learning of the more advanced skills.
- There is no limit to the skills that can be learned at this level.
PreTeam Class
Request acceptance- One or Two 90 minute class per week. The 2nd class is %20 off.
- Ages accepted are 6 – 9 years old
- 12 week semester to challenge your child’s abilities in hopes of joining the competitive team in the future. Our goal is to prepare your child for our team program.
- The next step is our entry level team program is a 12 month commitment at 2x a week.

TUMBLING & TRAMPOLINING CLASSES ARE FOR BOYS AND GIRLS 6 YEARS OLD AND UP. TUMBLING IS FOR THE ATHLETE THAT DOES NOT WANT TO WORK ON BARS, BEAM OR VAULT. IT IS PERFECT FOR CHEERLEADERS, ATHLETES TAKING ACRO, OR JUST FOR THAT ATHLETE WHO WANTS TO BE ABLE TO SHOW OFF IN THE GRASS.

Beginner/Intermediate
Ages 6 - 17- Beginner/Intermediate tumbling is for those just starting out or with limited experience. All of the basics are taught to gain strength and body position.
- Classes are taught by National Level Gymnastics Instructors.
Advanced
Ages 8+ AND have Backhandsprings w/o Spot- Advanced tumbling is for those who are already doing backhandsprings without a spot on the floor and they will learn multiple back handsprings and flipping.
- Classes are taught by national level gymnastics coaches.

What to know before your first day!
Before Class
You should come into our lobby, take off your shoes, socks, jackets, etc… and wait for the coach to greet you and ask you to come in the gym. Class will begin right on time, so try to be a few minutes early.
When Class Starts
You will be brought into the gym by a coach. You can bring your water bottle in and leave it on the counter in the gym if you want.
When Class is Going On
You will spend 15-20 minutes warming up and stretching. From there, you will spend 15 minutes on basic tumbling. Then you can focus on the apparatus that you wish to work on. Our coaches will be there to help you with whatever goals you have and even to formulate those goals.
When Class Ends
At the end of practice, you will usually spend about 5 minutes stretching and then you will be dismissed by your coach.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST CLASS?
Adults must wear shorts, leggings or sweats and a t-shirt that tucks in. Hair must be secured to stay out of their face. All students must have bare feet and no jewelery.
WHAT IS YOUR REGISTRATION & PAYMENT POLICY?
All registrations will be taken on a first-come basis five weeks before each session start. Please register early. In the Winter and Spring Semesters current clients may receive access to registration before open enrollment.
Full payment will be autocharged within 48 hours of registering. Registrations are first checked for accuracy and for any discounts/prorates that may apply. If necessary, other arrangements may be made with Mr. Tom – neweragym@gmail.com.
THERE ARE NO REGISTRATION FEES EVER!
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
All fees are refundable until one day after the 2nd class after your registration of the any semester for all new gymnasts except the summer semester where it is one class. There are no refunds/credits for classes missed if the gymnast has to quarantine for any reason – make-ups are your only option. If the gym is forced to close and make-ups and/or make-up days cannot suffice, a credit will be issued to your gymnastics account. For current/former gymnasts a cancelation more than 5 days before a semester will be refunded , after that only credited. Credits cannot be exchanged for refunds or transferred outside the immediate family.
WHAT IS YOUR MAKE-UP POLICY?
If you are is possibly contagious, please stay out of class and schedule a make-up.

Each student is limited to 2 makeup classes during school year semesters and 1 makeup class during a summer semester. Makeups must be done within the semester they were missed. Makeup classes will be based on availability in the requested class and are not a guaranteed benefit.
WHAT IS YOUR BAD WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY?
For storm closings, an email will be sent out, and the gym’s status will be posted on the front page of this website and on social media. PLEASE do NOT call the gym to check status. Decisions will be made by 7:30 am for morning classes and by 12:30 pm for afternoon classes for If your child misses a class because WE cancel his/her class, you may schedule an additional make-up during that session, but make-ups are subject to availability. You cannot be credited unless the cancellation occurs during the last 2 weeks of the session.

Boys Competitive Gymnastics
New Era has one of the largest Boys’ teams in CT and the only all-boys facility in the United States. If your son was recommended to Pre-Team, it is a big deal! Monthly tuition is $TBA for 5.0 hours per week of training.

Alex
Coaching since 2xxx
Alex is the Boys’ Team Head Coach, the Boys’ Class Director, and a tumbling instructor. Alex studied computer science at SCSU where he also competed gymnastics under Hall of Fame coach Abie Grossfeld. Alex comes from a gymnastics family. He was brought up in gymnastics along with his brother by his father who owned a gym in Brooklyn. Alex has been at New Era since 2004.
Chris
Coaching since 2xxx
Chris is the Boys’ Team Assistant Coach, Class Director, and Class & Tumbling instructor. Chris studied Physical Education at CCSU and is currently studying Business Administration at NVCC. Chris was a gymnast for 20 years, 2 of them as an elite gymnast, and qualified for the National Championships 4 times. Chris has been at New Era since 2XXX.
